Started by Aaron Dobbs (aaron at thelibrarian dot org) for ease of organizing roomshare options for ALA-NOLA, which was a follow on effort to a wildly successful room share for Midwinter in San Antonio.

There are thoughts about some sort of CC license or copyright on content at some point (which will basically be something like 'those who post here do it for mutual convenience; no blood, no foul - c'mon we're all adults here) but that seems like overkill at this point.
